Back in January Miramonte Elementary School was rocked by the arrest of teacher Mark Berndt for molesting nearly two dozen students by gagging them and putting live cockroaches on some of their faces. Just days later a second teacher was arrested accused of fondling two girls. The school promptly closed its doors affecting hundreds of the school's mostly immigrant children. Amid the scandal, the troubled school reopened its doors and over half of the student body returned to finish the year. Teresa Rodrigu
